Featured modeller: Ronnie Phoon

Ronnie Phoon burst into the local modelling scene with his award winning entries in the international Gunpla events organised by Bandai. This feature is a short summary of the style of model making which is unmistakenly his.

Ronnie started dabbling in finescale modelling in the 90s with an early inkling for military models. Soon, his passion for kit-bashing could no longer be contained and it eventually moved on to more expressive sci-fi diesel/steam punk subjects which earned him a strong following in the modeliing fraternity.

His works share a common vision of freedom of expression with a broad stroke of artistic licensing in composition and execution. All these traits are evident in his windbreaker series of models and also in his diorama subjects.
